Well, so much for every day... :)
Today was fine. The kids were good. We went on a long walk and had plans to visit the playground at the Tri, but there was construction work in front, so we kept on and stopped by the grocery store on the way home.
Both kids pooped today, Flora twice. The both had a decent nap...I think Flora was a little under 2 hours and Sammy a little over 2 hours. Lunch was early again, which seems to help, though Sammy ended earlier than Flora so I think she passed up the rest of her lunch in order to not be the last one eating... :)
It doesn't look like we will get to go to Hueston Woods tomorrow... Sad...
Wow, tomorrow is June 1!
It's been a while since I've taken any pictures...I'll see what I can do tomorrow.
Flora's singing cracks me up...I forget what song she is always singing, but it is great. She always skips one line, which makes me smile. :)

No Pics Today.
It was a good day with the kids today!
As a friend kindly pointed out to me...I've been a bit lazy with my posts lately. Oops. :) Well, I'm going to try to post every day for the last 2 weeks here. We'll see how that goes.
Both kids did great today. They were well-behaved, didn't fight much, and enjoyed just playing with each other. Mondays (or Tuesday in this case) are usually better days as the kids seem to enjoy each others' company a bit more after not seeing each other for a couple days.
Our biggest adventure today was heading to the library, where they kids played with the toys and puzzles and cars.
We also stopped by the post office.
Other than that, it was mostly playing around the house.
We had an early lunch to try to avoid tantrums, which seemed to work better...not great, but better. The kids both ate some lunch, but not all. Lunch started at 10:45am, and the kids napped from about 12:30ish to 2:15ish.
Both kids pooped around 8:45am.
A couple notes about Flora: She fell down the stairs today. I thought I was going to get by the entire year without a fall, but it finally happened. It wasn't a bad fall (she's pretty graceful!) and it wasn't very far. In fact, she barely even cried, and the crying that happened I think was simply from being startled, not because she was hurt. She soon forgot and went back to playing. Another note: she ducked as usual at the first sound of thunder this morning, but amazingly after that, she seemed ok with the thunder. Maybe she is out-growing her fear. I was pretty excited to see her unphased by the noise. :) Oh, I almost forgot: have you been working with her on holding writing utensils? I noticed she was holding the crayon today pretty close to how it should be held! Wow!
I talked with Hueston Woods today to find out about paddle boat rentals. The guy said they have life vests that fit young children, and he said kids usually really enjoy the paddle boats and don't tend to try to jump off or anything (unless their parents are jumping off with them to swim). I had hoped to take them Friday (the rentals don't open until then), but the weather is looking bad for Friday as of now. If the weather clears, that will probably be the plan for Friday. Otherwise, I'll keep you posted on other ideas.

this afternoon.
General notes: Overall, the kids were great today! There was some fussiness at times, but for
both of them lacking normal sleep, I was quite impressed!

cheese, a few blueberries
Nap 2: 12:45-3:15
Snack 2: 3:45, raisins

Special notes: I tried getting him to eat honey before his nap (hoping
to help his throat) by warming a little tiny bit of milk and mixing it in. It worked!
He drank the milk, just hard to tell if it helped or not…
A few things we did today: We went for a long walk this morning, and
then the kids walked to a couple neighbors houses with me to deliver
bread. We then hopped in the van and
delivered a couple more loaves and hit up the Miami Trails on the way
home.
General notes: I forgot how beautiful the MU trails are! I haven’t been out for a while, and I am
sooooo grateful to have kids that love the outdoors! They just ate it up today. The best part…at the end, there was a
maintenance guy loading up a tractor/mower, and he let us look at it, and Sammy
even sat in the seat!!! Flora was a
little too cautious to hop up in it. Andrea,
you’ll have to ask Sammy what he did today and see if he says anything. :)

May 10, 2012 PICS
Sammy and his reading faces.
The kids had a blast in the puddles. Check out Flora...a couple of the pictures show her getting some serious air! She's quite the puddle jumper. :)

It must be nearing the end...I keep getting lazier on my posts. Sorry, bloggies!
No post today (let's just say it was a long day), but I will post a few pictures.

Oh no! I was just getting to bed and realized this was still sitting on my computer. All I had to do was click "publish." So sorry for the late post!
No Pics Today (though when I get around to it, I have a couple from yesterday).
Name: Flora
Date: 5-9-12
Arrived: 7:15am
Breakfast: 7:20am, some cereal
Snack: ----
Nap 1: ----
Lunch: 11:30am, all blueberries, cheese, veggies, and applesauce, plus some more
cereal with milk
Nap 2: 12:35-1:40
Snack 2: 3:10pm, mini wheats
BM: 1:50ish
Special notes: When we pulled into one of the back spots of the Co-op,
Flora said “Co-op!” :) She’s so good about identifying
locations. It still amazes me
sometimes.

Nap 2: 12:30-3:10

Special notes: As long as we were out, Sammy seemed fine. However, he had a rough time in the
house. All he wanted was to be
held. He cried quite a bit and wouldn’t
eat much at lunch. I think that his mouth
is hurting him. He seemed to cough more
today, too. After naptime, he was great! :)
A few things we did today: We went for a long walk, went to Kroger and
a brief stop at the Co-op, and went to the Tri playground.
General notes: I had hoped to get to see the butterflies this week with
Milo and Brad, but I think we will skip that for now. Sammy seems a little too vulnerable with his
sickness, so I’m afraid we would get all the way down there and he’d be unhappy
the entire time. I am shooting for next
week! Hopefully we have as nice of
weather as this week!! Because I’m not
sure if the kids are still contagious, I’ll probably hold off on trips to
places like the library as well, at least for this week.

Name: Flora
Date: 5-8-12
Arrived: 7:15am
Breakfast: 7:20am, some oatmeal, a little cheese
Snack: ----
Nap 1: ----
Lunch: 11:30, all blueberries, some cheese, some edamame, the rest of
oatmeal, a little hummus
Nap 2: 12:45-2:20
Snack 2: 2:45, a few crackers before Grandma came
BM: not yet
Special notes: Flora is a water bug!!!
:) She just loves the water…puddles,
bath water, or other.
Name: Samuel
Date: 5-8-12
Arrived: 7:30am
Breakfast: already ate
Snack: ----
Nap 1: ----
Lunch: 11:30, some of my plain yogurt with honey, a little hummus
Nap 2: 12:25-1:30ish
Snack 2: 2:45ish, a couple crackers, then some pretzels
BM: not yet
Special notes: Not much of an appetite today. He has told me several times his mouth
hurts. Poor guy. He’s been pretty clingy this afternoon, too,
but now he seems to be pretty happy.
Naptime, he woke up but was still tired. I tried to rock him a couple different times
with no success. He was content to rock
but then wouldn’t put up with being put back in his crib. I think this little sickness is keeping him
from getting good sleep. The first thing
he told me while he was crying when he woke up was that his mouth hurt. :/
Tried to give him ice water but he just wanted to hold it instead. He should probably sleep pretty well again
tonight.
A few things we did today: We did some of the usual stuff, including a
walk, but then we also played in puddles for a few minutes and took a
bath!
General notes: Sorry for getting behind on my posts. The kids were once again great today! The loved playing in the puddles. They were also really enthusiastic about the
alphabet today…I wish I had recorded it!
Oh, also, Flora taught Sammy the word “boobie” today while they were in
the tub, so Sammy kept saying it over and over and kept giggling. ha
